The history of Christ Lutheran begins in 1908 with a petition asking to establish a church on the hill in Pleasant Heights, now known as Mozart.
On January 1909, the first Sunday School was held with 40 children, 20 adults and 6 teachers. This class was held in a bowling alley.
In February 1909, 2 lots on Richmond Avenue were given for the construction of a church building. The building was dedicated on 12 December 1909.
The congregation was organized on 9 October 1909 with 75 charter members.
The parsonage was built in 1912 and is still used for that purpose, though not in its original location. It was moved across a street in the mid 1960’s.
Over the years, Christ Lutheran has grown in membership and ministry. The vision of their members through property acquisitions and expansion of their building has allowed this congregation to reach out to the community.
